Business objective
Sanders Brokerage Services, located at the port of entry in Blaine, Washington opened its doors for business on February 3rd 2003. Founded by Steve Sanders and Len Beckett, the companies intial plans are to service Importers and freight logistics providers doing business along the I-5 corridor and in time expand our area of services throughout the U.S.A.
With a focus on assisting in the movement of goods passing into the commerce of the United States, Sanders Brokerage Services draws on the expertise and knowledge of it's owner, Steve Sanders (Licensed U.S. Customhouse Broker) who has over 36 years experience in the brokerage industry.
Sanders Brokerage Services is committed to helping their clients navigate the maze of Importing “red-tape” and government agency regulation 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Use of current technology will drive the efficacy of the company. Inclusive of Web interface systems, E-mail infrastructure and fax communications, ABI via U.S. Customs (CBP) Automated Commercial System (ACS) to Customs new Automated Commercial Enviroment (ACE), the infrastructure is in place to take utmost advantage of third party vendor offerings. This allows the Sanders Brokerage Services to concentrate their time in dealing with the daily movement of goods while benefiting from the use of cutting edge technology. Extensive use of communication hardware allows each member of our team complete access to the office from home or on the road.
By design, as a small company, the focus of our team is to gather and limit a core group of major accounts per team member thereby allowing each account manager to provide superlative service without overload.
In the short term, plans are to build the Blaine office team while expanding our services to other ports through available technologies (Remote Location Filing - RLF) and an agent broker network. Technological infrastructures and associations have been developed along the entire northern border U.S. border, much of the southern U.S. border and where necessary at many major Air and Ocean ports of entry in the U.S.A. These associations will serve to conduct Customs business in ports where Sanders Brokerage has no presence, allowing our clients the flexibility to use carriers that desire to import in points other than Blaine.
Inception
Born from the frustration of working within the confines of large corporations, the founders of Sanders Brokerage felt the time was right to carve out a niche in the Customs Brokerage market. At a time when many companies were growing for growth’s sake it became apparent that quality customer service was falling by the wayside, a victim of bottom line fever and unresponsive upper management.
While the lure of comfortable and safe grounds may lull some into complacency, Sanders Brokerage Services has “stepped out of the box” and endeavors to build a team of professionals that cater to a select clientele with unique and specific needs.
The management of Sanders Brokerage Services takes the stance that keeping abreast of the ever changing importing regulations, requirements and Importer responsibilities is tantamount to success - with success being ultimately measured by client satisfaction and strong subsequent partnership with employees and clients alike.
In the long term our goal is to create an office work environment that promotes and encourages personal growth as well as financial stability while building confidence in the management. We believe this can be accomplished with careful selection of team members and an adherence to high standards for both ourselves and our associates. While “Best Business Practices” shall be the goal, new ideas are to be encouraged and implemented as changing business requirements dictate.
