Notice of Modification of Section 301 Action: Enforcement of U.S. WTO Rights in Large Civil Aircraft Dispute
Tomorrow, Friday 2/21, The USTR will publish in the Federal Register a Notice of Modification of the Section 301 Action against the EU for the enforcement of the US WTO Rights in the Large Civil Aircraft dispute. Specifically, the rate of additional duty for large civil aircraft will be increased from 10 percent to 15 percent on March 18, and the lists of other products subject to the additional 25 percent duty will be modified as of March 5. REDUCTION IN THE DUTY RATE ON CERTAIN CHINESE PRODUCTS COVERED BY THE 301-CHINA TARIFFS
Yesterday, January 15, 2020 the US and China signed the Phase One trade deal that mandates structural reforms and other changes to China’s economic and trade policies as well as increasing US exports to China. As a result of this commitment, the US Trade Representative’s office announced a reduction in the duty rate on certain Chinese products covered by the 301-China Tarrifs.
