ISF (Importer Security Filings) – CBP moves to penalty phase!

U.S. Customs and Border Protection Services has notified the public that starting today (July 9th, 2013) CBP will take the position to issue penalties to importers who fail to file, or fail to “timely” file their ISF (Importer Security Filing – AKA 10+2) submissions.

ISF submissions are required on Ocean imports coming into the U.S.A.  Submissions must be filed electronically to CBP 24 hours prior to the cargo being tendered to the carrier in the exporting country of shipment / origin.
