Change – In Reporting Consignee EIN / IRS tax numbers March 16 2019

There is a very important change coming to the information that a U.S. Customs broker must report when adding a new “consignee” EIN (employer identification number) commonly referred to as an I.R.S. tax number.

Effective March 16th will demand that U.S. Customs Brokers now report 3 additional data fields when adding a record into CBP ACE operating system.  The new fields required will include:

  • Company Email Address
  • Company Phone Number
  • Business Address Type (options follow)
  1. Residence
  2. Corporate Office
  3. Warehouse
  4. Retail Location
  5. Office Building
  6. Business Service Center
